Eligibility Criteria
Who’s eligible for the PESP scholarship? The requirements for students to qualify for the scholarship scheme are listed below:
- Eligibility for this scholarship covers citizens of Malaysia who will be between the ages of 17 and 19.
- Candidates must demonstrate active involvement in extracurricular activities and strong leadership abilities.
- Applicants must intend to enroll in one of the available undergraduate programs.
- They must possess the academic credentials needed for the supported program.
- A minimal level 8A- in SPM 2021, which includes Mathematics, is required.
- Evaluation: Online assessment and evaluation of student aptitude
- Also, candidates must have leadership potential and enthusiastic involvement in extracurricular activities.
Academic Requirements
Candidates should satisfy the educational standards for the offered program. The minimal academic criteria and the permitted courses vary based on the funded program:
- Engineering/Computing UTP — You need to have at least 8A- in math, physics, and chemistry.
- Local Universities (Arts) — Applicants must get at least 8A-, which includes mathematics.
- You must have at least a 4A+ and 4A-, comprising math, physics, and chemistry, to be admitted to a foreign university that offers science or engineering.
- Foreign universities (arts/computer science) — Entrants for this category must have at least 4A+ and 4A- in all subject areas, which would include mathematics.
How to Apply For Petronas Education Sponsorship Programme
Use the student portal to submit your PESP Scholarship application online at https://educationsponsorship.petronas.com.my/OAS/Applicant/Applicant/Login.
To apply, you must first create an account and log in to your application site. When the application process opens on June 16. Details on how and where to apply will be made available.
The application procedure must be completed during the dates specified below.
Qualified individuals will be selected and interviewed prior to making a final decision.
Application Closing Date
The Petronas Education Sponsorship Program registration deadline runs from June 16 at 10 a.m. to June 22 at 5 p.m.
The schedule for the internet-based evaluations will be communicated to the selected students. They will also pass through a number of evaluations.
The 15th of August will see the announcement of the PYD applicants who have been selected. This will be accomplished using their online registration platform. You must use the same login information there.
